How it works

How you get a quote from us

Three steps. There's no commitment at any point, and nothing gets ordered until you've seen it in writing and said yes.

Book a survey

Video call or home visit, whichever suits you. Both free, and nobody will push you towards one.

We work out what your rooms need

Sized from the room itself — aspect, glazing, insulation, how it's used — and we check where the outdoor unit can go.

You get a written quote

Itemised, with the specification and the reasoning behind it. Then it's entirely up to you.

Why quotes vary so wildly

Two quotes for the same room can be thousands apart. It usually isn't the unit

Air conditioning quotes differ far more than boiler quotes do, and almost all of the difference sits in things you can't see once the job is finished. Here's where it hides.

Was it sized, or guessed?

A room's heat gain depends on its windows, aspect, insulation and what's in it. Sizing from floor area alone is a guess, and it's the most common one.

Where is the outdoor unit going?

And has anyone stood outside and thought about it — the boundary, the neighbours, what you'll look at from the garden?

Has permission been checked?

For most London houses no application is needed, but flats, listed buildings, conservation areas and some boroughs are different. That belongs before an order, not after.

Where does the condensate go?

Every system produces water and it has to go somewhere sensible. A cheap quote quietly assumes that'll be easy.

Is the electrical supply specified?

Or is it a line that says ‘connect to existing’ and a conversation on the day?

Is commissioning included?

Pressure test, evacuation, commissioning, paperwork. If a quote goes quiet about the end of the job, that's worth a question.

What's in a quote from us

Everything on ours is in writing

Not because it's unusual, but because it's the only way you can put one quote next to another and see what you're actually comparing. This is what you'll see itemised.

A wall-mounted indoor air conditioning unit
Sized from the actual room, not guessed from the floor area
Where the outdoor unit goes, and how the pipework gets there
The permitted development position checked for your specific property
The condensate route, planned rather than assumed
The electrical supply, specified properly
Commissioning, and the handover paperwork at the end

And here's what won't happen

  • No pricing on the doorstep
  • No asking you to decide while we're stood in your hallway
  • No chasing you afterwards
  • No obligation of any kind
  • No fixing anything to a wall until you've agreed where it goes
  • No ordering anything before the permissions position is checked

Ryan Haugh, London Heating & Renewables

“Ask anyone quoting you whether they're F‑Gas certified. It's a completely reasonable question to ask before you let someone drill through your wall, and anyone worth using won't mind being asked.”
